About MeI am originally from Fallston, Maryland and have lived in Cleveland and Philadelphia. I currently reside in Springfield, Ohio where I teach at Wittenberg University. I did my undergraduate work at Lake Erie College, where I majored in International Business. I completed my M.A. in Philosophy at Cleveland State University and earned my Ph.D. in Philosophy at Temple University, where I also completed a Certificate in Women’s Studies. At Temple University I held a two-year visiting position (1998-2000) in the Department of Philosophy and directed the Awareness of Teaching and Teaching Improvement Center. In 2000 I went to Wittenberg University, serving as a faculty member and as the Director of Women’s Studies and the Chair of the Department of Philosophy.
I now serve as the Executive Director of the Fitz Center for Leadership in Community at the University of Dayton. At the Fitz Center we work from an asset-based approach to partner with community members and organizations to co-produce knowledge, practice, programming, and resilience around community-identified goals. |

I am lucky to have a job that includes a fair amount of travel. Here are some images from those excursions.
